AGRICULTURA LUSITANA is a cultural and creative immersion project that involved around 150 people from 9 national design schools, 22 craft ateliers and a design team, and invited them to immerse themselves in the reality of the schist villages to create objects with cultural, local and national meaning and identity. It is the latest in a triology of projects based on promoting the identity and territory of the Schist Villages (Água Musa, L4 Craft, Agricultura Lusitana).

“The AGRICULTURA LUSITANA project challenges itself to bring together around our identity matrix - agricultural heritage as the essence of knowing how to do, be and be - a set of actors and frontiers of knowledge in areas as diverse as history, ethnography, gastronomy, craft, design, traditional arts and crafts, handicrafts and digital fabrication, ecology and audiovisual, in order to, from the local context, idealize and produce goods and services capable of attracting new demand.”
Rui Simão
ADXTUR Coordinator, Coordinator of the Lusitanian Agriculture project

“This project solidifies the positioning of the collaborative culture between management and design, a powerful catalyst within organizations that stimulates creative thinking, the development of initiatives and the work of teams that want to generate value in the social context. Transformations based on ethical principles and more ecological ways of being will change the way we live, promoting personal, social and political well-being in the territory of this project, Portugal.”
João Nunes
