Every year the a RAR Holding enriches its art portfolio and elevates the Annual Report to a memorable piece. Through a sustainable circular process of investment and return, it becomes a reference both in its area and in the artistic and cultural scene.

Horácio Frutuoso's vision finds in the Report and Accounts a privileged mean of reproduction.
A visual game of details, textures and scale that allows the discovery of the work through its fragments. Large blocks of colour and contrast are used to accentuate the works details, as well as textures and reference elements that create a continuous narrative between content and art.

Artist Andreia Santana provided a profoundly rich vision, both conceptual and sculptural, exploring ideas through glass and iron. The layout and finishes of the Annual Report, inspired by works of art, enable an experience that invites the senses and dialogues with the corporate content as a whole.

António Olaio presents a set of graphite drawings where we felt the performative dimension of the daily activities in the RAR Group companies.


The graphic approach explored the reference of the sketchbook and the emphasis on graphite through the texture of the chosen paper, the finish on the spine and the printing in metallic tones, giving a “hyper-realistic” experience to the reproduction of the works and the enjoyment of the report.

In the work developed by artist Ana Manso, references to the meeting with RAR Holding can be seen both in the process and in the work, incorporating materials found in the RAR group's factories. The design exercise of the Annual Report aims to emphasize the chromatic strength of the sets and the visual richness of the various textures present in his work, namely that of the nets rescued from an industrial process at RAR Açúcar.

The Annual Report that includes the work of artist Isabel Simões also mark the 20th anniversary of the project “A look at RAR”.

A temporal “milestone” that we feel has parallels with the artist’s works. In the work created around the processes and activities of the Group's companies, sometimes through a composition with materials from Colep's production waste, sometimes in the representation of the trails of land plowed in the Vitacress fields, we felt them as the testimony of what remains of the company activity and Man actions, similar to this project. These 20 years of “RAR seen by..” are represented by 20 circular cutouts on the cover of the report, which release 20 circles, one per artist.

The design vision for the 2017 Annual Report set out to create a vibrant editorial narrative, where the spectrum of 'chromatic aberration,' the dispersion of light, and the energy of colours would be contagious. Bold typography with generous ink coverage and pages of pure colour aim to coexist within the vibrant style that José Almeida Pereira conveys in his work.

The recurring presence of circular shapes in the vision proposed by artist Dalila Gonçalves associated with the concept of value were the motto for the editorial vision of the design. Small cutout circles through the entire Annual Report, creates challenges to pagination but allows to communicate concepts that are transversal and timeless to the company: the “worlds” inside RAR Holding, the differentiated perspective, and the ability to see beyond the present moment, in constant evolution.
